Terms of Use

Last updated: 19 September 2026

These terms apply to the Kav2D web app at kav2d.app: a browser vector editor and a way to prepare SVG or DXF files. They are written in plain language. They are not a substitute for advice from a lawyer.

Acceptance

By using Kav2D you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

The service

Kav2D lets you create and edit 2D vector drawings in the browser, import SVG or DXF, and export SVG or DXF. Optional on-page guides explain tools that exist in the editor. The service is provided free of charge, with advertisements on the editor, and may change, break or go offline without notice.

Kav2D does not operate your laser cutter, CNC machine or printer. It does not guarantee that an exported file will load in a particular vendor’s software or cut correctly on a particular machine.

Your drawings and uploads

You are responsible for everything you draw, import or export: geometry, text, symbols and files you open with Open…, Import SVG… or Import DXF…. Do not use Kav2D to create or upload content that is illegal where you are, that infringes other people’s rights, or that you are not allowed to copy.

You keep whatever intellectual-property rights you already have in your own drawings. Using Kav2D does not transfer those rights to Erez D. or to Kav2D. Illustrations inserted from OpenMoji remain subject to the OpenMoji licence shown in About.

Availability and changes

Features can be added, removed or renamed. Autosave, export options and Boolean results may differ between versions. You should keep your own copies of important work with Download project and with SVG/DXF export.

Saving, loss of data and backups

The editor autosaves to this browser’s local storage. That is not a backup. Clearing site data, using another browser, another device, or a full-page crash can lose unsaved work. Closing a dirty document tab may ask for confirmation; refreshing the whole site may also prompt the browser if the drawing is marked dirty. Do not rely on Kav2D as the only copy of a file you care about.

Third-party services and links

Analytics, advertising, fonts, Ko-fi, OpenMoji, the issue-report form and any other outbound link are provided by third parties. Their terms apply when you use them. Kav2D is not responsible for those sites.

Checking files before you cut or engrave

Before you send a file to a machine, you must check at least:

  • Units and page size (Document & material…).
  • Stroke colours and how your cutter software maps colours to operations.
  • Closed paths for cuts, overlapping shapes, and duplicate lines.
  • Whether live text should be converted with Convert text to outlines.
  • Kerf: Kav2D can store a kerf value and optionally apply compensation to a copy on export. That is not a promise that parts will fit.

Power, speed, passes, focus and material are set in the machine’s software and on the shop floor. Kav2D does not publish universal power tables.

Laser and workshop safety

Laser cutters and similar tools can cause fire, fumes, eye injury and property damage. Follow the machine manufacturer, ventilation rules, approved materials lists and supervision requirements. Never cut a material your machine is not approved to process. Kav2D does not start the laser and cannot see your workshop.

Limitation of liability

Kav2D is provided “as is”. To the extent allowed by law, Erez D. and anyone distributing Kav2D are not liable for lost drawings, failed cuts, damaged materials, machine damage, injury, or indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the editor or its exports. You assume the risk of using the files you create.

Changes to these terms

The “Last updated” date will change when this page is revised. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
